Correct attributions

Individual Data Points IDP	CORRECT ATTRIBUTIONS Below there are two examples of Data Point Distribution (DPD) within the Designated Artist Target Zone (DATZ). Both examples appear in a similar format to that which appears in the various Catalogue Raisonnés. The image designated as ccr-213 is a solid authoritative attribution to Michelangelo da Caravaggio. Note that with one exception, DPD is completely within the DATZ for Caravaggio. As with most solid attributions, there are one or two Individual Data Points (IDP) that fall outside the DATZ parameters. An errant IDP can be caused by slight damage to the painting, such as over-cleaning and other minor factors. One or two errant IDP do not challenge or undermine the attribution as long as the main appearance of the DPD is solidly within the Designated Artist Target Zone (DATZ). The image shown below as ccr-213 is file number /car138 in the Caravaggio Catalogue Raisonné and the title is Cupid Asleep.

Data Point Distribution DPD	The image designated as rcr-109 is an exceptionally authoritative attribution to Rembrandt van Rijn. The image shown above as rcr-109 is file number /rem522 in the Rembrandt Catalogue Raisonné and the title is The Anatomy Lesson of Doctor Tulp. Not only do all IDP fall within the DATZ on this graphic; the DPD is extremely tight. This particular level of confirmation is unassailable and exceptionally rare. It also indicates that the level of conservation for the painting is extremely fine. Most commonly it is minor damage to the painting that causes the spread of the DPD.
